A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Mary Joyce - most people call me MJ - and I’m a licensed professional counselor passionate about helping people find relief from anxiety, stress, and self-doubt. Many of my clients feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, worry, or sadness that make it hard to enjoy the present or connect with others in the way they’d like.

If you often replay conversations, struggle with “what ifs,” or feel weighed down by uncertainty, you’re not alone. I work with adults and teens who want to quiet their inner critic, manage life’s challenges, and rediscover a sense of confidence, purpose, and joy in their lives and relationships.

I also support those who are used to being the steady support for everyone else - individuals who give so much of themselves and are now ready to invest in their own well-being. Together, we create space for you to refocus on your needs, replenish your energy, and reconnect with what matters most to you.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I listen closely to understand your unique experiences and help you identify patterns that might be holding you back. Together, we’ll develop tools and strategies that fit your life, and I’ll help you recognize and build on the strengths you already have - even those you might not see in yourself.

I welcome and value clients from all backgrounds and identities, and I’m committed to creating an inclusive, supportive space where you can be yourself. My work is tailored to your needs, blending evidence-based methods with genuine care and encouragement.

Adults:

I support adults in areas of focus including anxiety, depression, grief, stress management, relationships, personal exploration & growth, life transitions and relationships. In addition to my general practice, I have an interest in working with chronic illness and/or injury.

Adolescents:

I enjoy working with adolescents (14+) in areas including self-esteem, peer relationships, anxiety, worry & sadness. I also support adolescents in times of transitions.

Couples:

I work with couples in order to foster open communication, deepen emotional connection, and cultivate trust. Couples gain invaluable insights into themselves and each other, fostering growth, resilience, and the foundation for a stronger, more fulfilling bond.
